I am changing some down lights for LEDs. Currently they are 12v halogens with individual transformers. I have 18w LED drivers and 8 4w LED lamps. Can I run 2 drivers in paralell to give 36w on the start of the cable run? Changing the wireing to have 2groups of 4 lamps will be a real pain in the arse

Thanks

Almost certainly NOT possible.

To run two supplies in parallel they need to be designed to work in parallel and that requires interconnection of the internal sense and control circuits of the two units.

Out of interest, what brand LED lamps are you using?

Unless I have missed something pretty significant, I see no reason why two LED drivers could not receive their 230v input in parallel by looping L,N (&E) from one to another. I think this is what the OP means

The LEDs seem to be branded HTTP LED.

Yes I wanted to join the 12v out in parallel to give 36w capacity

Most supplies are AC and they will not synchronise or load share so will need to run separate. Likely not 50Hz either so does not matter which way around they are linked.

Even if DC there is still a problem with two at the same end as if the voltage on one was just slightly higher than the other it would take all the load leaving the other one running light.
