Can I still Use heating and hot water?

I have a combi boilera nd plan on taking one of the radiotors off so that one of my rooms can be plastered.
I guess I can switch off the valves and then remove the radiator without draining the system ( if not let me know!!). Once the radiator is off can I then continue to use the heating and hot water with the valves closed or will the system be built in such a way that I have to shut off the boiler?

The system is new and was put in about 5 months ago if it helps!

If both the valves are tightly closed and do not leak, the boiler and pipes will not know that it's gone. When you've finished, you will have to refill, bleed and repressurise after refitting the rad before you fire the boiler again.
