Have a separate built in oven and hob, obviously made to be 'built in', but as a temporary option, can I put the oven on the floor with a couple of breeze blocks underneath, and can I put the hob just on top of a work surface rather than cutting a hole in the surface?

Not sure how safe all this would be and if things like the jobs need ventilation underneath?

This is a temporary option for a few months while the house is being refurbed.

Thanks

The oven will be fine, although you should check it won't tip forward when you are opening the door. If it does you might need an extra brick or something on top for added weight. How well the hob works like that will depend on its construction, as they are not always flat on the bottom. If it is a new worktop you should protect it from heat damage from the hob, perhaps with a few old ceramic floor tiles or something. This also applies if there are ventilation holes in the bottom panel of the hob, as you should not obstruct those.
