Hi All,

I want to use some of my spare block paving to pave a small area around my above ground swimming pool. The area will receive light footfall traffic only and would be on heavily compacted clayey soil. I thought about using self levelling compound giving a thickness from 15mm - 25mm and then once dry using a mortar mix to bed the blocks down.

Using the self levelling compound would be far easier on my back and a lot quicker. Would it be okay?

Thanks
Daz

You do get high performance self leveling compounds that can be used out of doors, by why not use a 50mm bed of sand which is more normal?
