Can I use uplink on switch to send cameras

Hi all

I have tried to Google but cannot find an exact answer.

My question is,

If I have an 8 port poe Switch and it has 2 gigabit uplink ports.... can I send 6 x 6mp IP camera signals into the normal ports of the switch and then send them out via the uplink port to a gigabit power line - then the powerline receiver into the NVR?

Hope someone can share if the uplinks can be used in this way, still not sure what their exact use it for.
