Hi

Lots of thread about painting over wallpaper, but not about wallpapering over painted walls.

We have stripped our walls of the old wallpaper and sanded the walls down and filled any minor gaps with filla, but the wallpaper we hope to use it moderately thin. Rather than lining paper the whole room, and then wallpapering over that, we wondered if we could paint the walls to ensure it was all one even shade and then wallpaper over it? There's something in my mind, though, that makes me think that the paint will prevent the wallpaper adhering to the walls if they are painted?

Perfectly ok to do what you have suggested. Sometimes an easier option to lining the walls.

Sounds ok
But Lining the room is much better.
use 1000 grade liner .paste it with a roller 7" or 9" not brush much faster.
only 3.5 drops down each wall
wickes £5 a quad roll 1000 lining paper
The job will last you longer to
