Can Myson TRV 2 way heads be dismantled?

I've ordering a replacement head anyhow but just curious - the plastic pin in a Myson TRV 2 way head is stuck out (what causes this anyhow? can it be repaired?).

This is the head:

And the stuck pin looks like the one on the left in the following pic:


Seems a bit wasteful just to bin it if it can be fixed but I can't see how to dismantle it.
