Hi
We have a side-hung window which has always had a bad gap at the top, but not a huge overlap at the bottom. The top hinge also looks knackered and the window is bowing outwards at the top due to the hinge issue.
Having measured up, it seems the difference between the opening and the opener is smaller than other windows in the house of the same style, i.e. there is a few mm overall of overlap to seal the window up, whereas on others there's a full 10mm.
Question: can the opener only be replaced by something a bit taller, plus new hinges? It would save a lot of mess. The windows are from 1999.
Thanks
Mike
