Can this be removed/cut

Hi all

a plumber has changed a toilet for me and this pipe has been left. He wasn’t sure if it could be cut or removed. Does anyone know if it can please?

Yes, remove it if you want, it is the old overflow.

Yeah - if the plumber removed the toilet and disconnected that from the old cistern overflow then if he is a plumber and not just a 'have a go' then he really should know if it can be cut and sealed and should have done that as part of the job.

As suggested though, yes - cut it down, plug the end and seal it with a little silicone
