Can this window stay open wider?

Hello

I have a window like this, attached.

I can open it wider so the pane is parallel to the ground, but it doesn't stay like that. It falls back to this position.

How can it be "held" in the very wide open position?

I have a similar window in the house (but smaller) and that is more "sticky". It stays very wide open.

Try tightening these screws a little bit on both hinges..

If you fail, prop it up with a stick? The window is heavy. If the above suggestion works, you might want to add a washer to the screw. It looks as if the screw is going through the plastic already.

It's meant to, it spreads the plastic guide thus tightening it in the slide, that's why it's called a friction hinge
