Can thumbnail images present a problem in XP SP2?

Everything is working fine on my PC following the XP Service Pack 2 upgrade but just one minor hitch. Some websites use thumbnail images and for some reason my machine seems unable to view these following the SP2 mod. Anybody have any ideas as to why this might be?
