The previous occupier of my house painted over a rectangular section of grey stone work below a bedroom window, the rest of the house is a rendered finish. I would like to restore it by removing the paint, but is it possible without damaging the finish of the stone? I could only think of trying a pressure washer or is there a product that would remove the paint?

in your case if its natural stone you definately want to stay away from chemical means as they might permenantly stain the stone depending on what it is.

If its a very small area a combination of wire brush and a flap wheel in a drill will do it. If its a bit larger you could try a needle gun.
