Jeez is money that tight? Just buy a roll of vapour barrier and use that if that's what you're trying to achieve.

Whether it performs any better is the question....
In theory it should do (as long as there is an air gap) because the foil is a low-emissivity surface; products such as Kingspan gain some of their insulation value due to the foil facing.
