I would be interested to see how he got the old shower cable (6mm??) into a 6 terminal 20Amp junction box...

sorry my mistake its a 30a 3 way. i stand corrected
i think i may take up the suggestion to merely get the electrician to put the lighting circuit also on the rcd. then the light and fan will be protected and i dont have to do any work
only problem is that if the light in the bathroom causes any tripping then it takes down all the lighting upstairs with it
i suppose i was thinking that if everything for the bathroom came from one junction box it was somehow neet and logical
