Can you recommend a good plumber in Reading?

Yes Tonny but how much per hr to change a rad. I bet I can find a good plumber for half your rate.

Then you'll be scratching your head as to why it doesn't heat up after the system is left riddled with trapped air cos' your plumber hasn't the time to bring it to temperature.

Get away you taking the **** now. or are you seriously suggesting a plumber cannot install a heating system.

An RGI is a Gas/boiler etc specialist with maybe limited plumbing skills.

Ok there are exceptions before to real plumbers turn up.

I'm suggesting the professional way to change a rad may involve some pipe alteration, new valves (as customer will expect FOC revisit when his own valves leak), decent fixings. Then fill & test and depending on the system, clear any airlocks and bring up to temp ensuring other rads are not adversely affected by partial drain down, vacuum drain down etc...

Not feasible for your £42, whether carried out by an RGI, Plumber, or any other self employed trade.

That is per hour and any plumber I know would be more than capable to cover the above and a lot more.

I would expect a good plumber to do it quicker than most RGI's.

Why? You don't know most RGI's. Try to remember plumbing craft came in many decades before having to be RGI'd. What you're suggesting is similar to saying high divers can't swim.

See you are being silly.

or,

Are you saying all swimmers are expert high divers.

I'm suggesting that divers are highly likely to be competent swimmers as RGI's are to be competent at heating & plumbing.

It's no use trying to twist my sentences in order to cover that you seem to have fallen on your sword on this thread.

Whilst DIA used ( when working ) to be installing all aspects of high end heating systems, I wonder if he really believes that his skills for fitting rads are limited ( just because he happened to be gas qualified )!

So in a relay race who you putting the money on the swimmers or the high divers.

The swimmers will win every time.

Put it another way Tony, could you do my old job to the same standard. Would you know how to make a tapered butt nipple from piece of 1" pipe

I can swim, so that'll make me faster that a 10m platform gold medallist. Put your shovel away.

You've stated that you expect plumbers can fit rads quicker than MOST (that means tens of thousands) RGI's. Analogies I've made are to put your comments into context. Instead of trying to be clever, why not write your way out of the above.

Please advise how you expect maybe even 100,000 RGI's (you've never met let alone employed) cannot install a rad as quickly as a general plumber.
