I have an ornate mirror that I want to keep, but the surface has deteriorated. Does anyone know how I can renovate the surface to bring the mirror back to its original glory?

I had a similar problem. I removed the mirror and used the frame for a painting I loved which originally had a grotty frame.

Mirrors can be renovated BUT it usually costs more than to have the mirror replaced. Renovating consists of removing the old silvering and then re-silvering. This can only be done at you local glass/mirror supplier.

Not usually. Old mirrors look great. Why don't you put it in an antique frame?
