I have a really mucky family. Huge dog/kids etc. Our hall walls get a real hammering. I am thinking of redecorating with some ordinary matt paint emulsion and then paint over it with a clear matt varnish? Would this work?thanks lots

can you varnish wall paint ok?

try using vinyl silk as this is wipeable.there is no logic in using matt and varnish.and will cost much more money,and take twice as long. simon the builder

Dulux offer a diamond matt which is really tough, sadly it is also tough on your wallet 
about £50 per 5 lt from memory. Covers well though and my customers were happy with it.
