Believe me, each day goes by, thousands of people all over, in particular in higher authority loose their grey matter, common sense is now very rare like diamonds. makes you cringe what times we live in now.
 
I'd guess they would have a certain claim on the estate but not for late charges after the time of death. Trick is to have given all ur assets away before you die, then rack up as much debt as you possibly can.
 
The bank people spoken to in that convo are idiots, banks have a specific department to deal with accounts belonging to people who have died and the grandson should simply have been transferred to them.

To me this is just another way to get more money out of folks.....as his grandmother has died they will try to claim something form the estate from the family..............every one of these companies are the same,common sense and discretion does not matter.....all that matters is MONEY MONEY MONEY
