When the oven was on last night the RCD tripped everything inside the flat. Now the oven does not heat up at all. The grill still works and so does the light but the oven fan has stopped spinning and there is no heat at all once it is turned on.

Something obviously blew inside it last night whilst it was in use...

My question is; is there a common part inside an oven that can blow like this and can it be replaced or should I just replace the whole unit with a new one?

Thanks

Heating element is most likely, costs about £15.

However that would not normally prevent the fan from working - has the timer been set after the power loss?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

It has been reset yes. The fan has been ‘rattling’ when in use over the past few months so suspect it may have something to do with the failure.

Replacing it for a new unit seems like the best option I’m sure now.
