Hi,

we're undergoing a kitchen renovation currently, and looking for some advice on a suitable canopy hood.

Currently (ok, up until a couple of days ago) we had an old open fireplace in our kitchen, this has now been ripped out, and we're hoping to use the Chimney as part of the extraction, as we're putting the cooker in the void left behind.

There is some draft where the chimney is pulling air upwards.

What we'd like, is to be able to fit a canopy hood, to extract moisture etc from the kitchen, but need advice on suitable models.

Currently the chimney void is 40cm d x 115cm w x 156cm h, however we're going to need to raise the height of the opening, so we can make this wider. Also, the chimney flue is slightly offset, so what we're considering is taking the lintel up slightly higher, to be able to run some ducting, rather than having to set the extractor to one side. Pictures uploaded.

Does anyone know of any suitable models that could be used?

Thanks
Tony
