I have a question about letter boxes.
A few days ago when the weather was bad it rained non-stop for 48 hours, it battered the front of the house causing water to start dripping through the seams of the letter box. Assuming it is now compromised and needs replacing I removed it from the door fitting and headed out to various stores. None of them had a letterbox to match mine.
I guess I have a really old door, my letterbox is much thinner than all I looked at.
A quick google tells me I have a 'slimline letterbox' which is marketed as 12". If I measure the the length it is indeed 12" but the measurements in millimetres are not adding up for me.

The inner plate on mine is 251mm/252mm. This diagram says 292mm.
The space between the screws (top of top screw to bottom of bottom screw) is 28mm. I found one on eBay that has the same distance screws, however, it seems it will be too long.

Distance between screw fixings is 292mm, on mine its 273/274mm
So I guess mine is even smaller than your standard 12" slimline letterbox.
I need one even quicker now as removing the screws as damaged the letterbox.
Any ideas what I am looking for?
