Hi all.

Water inlet appears in the old kitchen and then dissapears into the wall.

Its then a mystery how it appears in the loft to fill the water tank - seems to appear out of the loft boards at the section of a stud wall.

Anyway, its a 1930's house - is it at all possible the pipe is sat between the two brick layers?

I cant see how it gets from utility to the base of this stud wall!

Any ideas welcome.

Hi darrenh.

Are the supply pipe made of lead pipe?

They are sometime buried in brick wall behind plaster and run behind plasterboard and lathes / plaster.

This was done in 1930.

I've done some work on a bathroom in a manor house and all pipework ( lead and iron ) are buried in walls.

Dan.

You might be able to follow it up/down with a stud/nail finder. It's worth finding if it's lead - they're very easy to put nails through!
