capping a chimney

hi i am going to be blocking up my chimney and need to cap off the top. It contains a flu liner. i am not sure if i need to remove the liner before i cap it off.

worried about the condensation on the flue liner?

any sugestions?

to remove the liner do i just drag it out from the bottom, or do i need to lossen it a the top before doing this?
