Caravan pizzo quartz ignition problem

Can anyone help?
The pizzo quartz that lights the fridge was not sparking so I remeoved the fridge to have a look. Strange thing is if the PQ is removed from its metal holder it sparks fine. as soon as it is put back in it will not spark at all. Baffled. Could it be an earthing problem ? any help greatly appreciated. thanks
