I have a heavy, cast iron, un-enamelled ridged skillet for doing steaks on the barbie. I carelessy left it outside and it got a bit rusty. I have scoured it clean now

I can't remember the correct way to care for a pain iron pan. I have an idea you are supposed to oil the surface, and rub it clean after use but never wash it in water. Any more tips?

that's about it, you just wash them, without using detergent, eventually builds up it's own non stick surface of carbonised fat (nice!)
