Carpet fitting

Hi all,

Thanks for reading, I'm wanting to fit a new carpet in a small room, the room measures 2510mm long by 1530mm but tapers down to 1510mm.
I've got a large piece of carpet left that is larger than 2510 x 1530.

Ive fit the grippers about 10mm off the wall and laid the under lay down and stapled it in place. I've borrowed a kicker and have a large heavy chisel for pushing the edges down. Now are there any tips advice etc that you can offer for cutting, how starting, fitting etc as I've never fit one before.
