an elderly relative has found an established attack, it seems to be under a bedside cabinet in a spare room (so not frequently vacuumed) and possibly under the bed. Carpet is deep pile wilton laid on felt.

I understand it needs to be thoroughly vacuumed, and chemical killer applied

I have not had to do this before, who knows what is a good killer, where to get it, how much to use?

As it is a spare room I see no great problem in chemical having an odour or persistence, but she will not be able to move the furniture about to hoover under it frequently.

im going to guess its a very old carpet! It may be in there intrest with health etc to replace with a new one. If money is tight then get a cheap felt back. Probo work out as cheap as treating the one they have now, but will be better for there health also.
