Hi, just wondering if anyone has any advice on whether you can lay underlay and carpet over existing karndean flooring?

The Karndean is in our living room (and out into the hallway) and we'd like to replace with a carpet. Should I lift all the karndean, using a heat gun to scrape up all the adhesive, or take the much easier option of laying the underlay and carpet straight over the floor?

Would there be any risk to doing this?

Thanks,
Dan

Provided there are no moisture issues etc and you can get a decent fix with grippers, I can't see a reason not to lay straight over the top. The Karndean will e damaged of course but I'm guessing your not intending to use it again whilst you are at the property.
