Cast tec powerflue gas fire

Hi. I have a cast tec powerflue gas fire, can this be installed in a fireplace with a class 1 flue by just not installing the extractor fan at the rear as i don't have an outer wall, or do I need a new fire? I know this will need to be expertly fitted but just need to know if it will work in principle.
