I have a Gas Powerflue type fire in my livingroom.
When it is not in use (most of the time) there is a noticeable draught coming through from outside. I believe this is normal for a powerflue type fire

Is it possible to add some ducting to the extractor unit on the outside wall of the house to help shelter the combustion gas exit point and prevent the cold outside air being directly blown straight through into my livingroom?

No alteration should be made to the flue!!

It amazes me why these contraptions get fitted!

People go to great lengths to insulate their homes, and then burn gas and drag the heat out again!

Energy efficiency is a joke as long as inefficient fires and patio heaters are allowed!!

Rant over ! Back in my box!!!

I would put it as: you must not make any alterations, rather than should not.
Not being funny, it is just not possible.

Those blooming things are a pain in the whotsits... they are draughty, noisy and overpriced... On top of that they don't heat anything, other than the outside.

Oh and leave well alone, you cant adapt it in any way...
