I have a Yale Composite back door and I would like to fit a Cat flap in it.

I am very good at DIY and would rather do this job myself as I have fitted one before in a wooden door.

Make a template of catflap, make sure its level and draw round it, drill holes in the 4 corners, cut out using jigsaw, fit cat flat and silicon around edges.

Can anyone tell me what I might be cutting through with a composite door so I can make sure I have the right door for the job?

and would the procedure be any different from above?

Thanks

Very little content in a composite door so fairly easy, but usually panelled so placing the door has to be thought out too avoid gaps around cat flap.

Most likely just 3-4mm of fiberglass with a foam core then the other skin of GRP. Could be a timber core but if its a Yale door I would dought it as I believe they get them from Door Stop.
