Hello,

I have just finished installing laminate flooring in our bathroom. I installed the laminate around the toilet so i currently have a 1cm gap between the toilet and the laminate flooring. The flooring is 12mm thick i was planning on filing the gap with cork expansion strips and then using either caulk or sealant on top to finish it off and to make it waterproof.

I have only just discovered caulk as a product (im new to DIY). Is it as good as sealant? Im wondering which product is best to use in this situation.

Many Thanks,

Glyn

The best thing would be to put silicone sealant done to stop any water getting down and blowing the floor

1cm is a very wide gap to try and hide. The best thing to do is remove the toilet pan and run the flooring under it.
