Whats the average cavity space thickness in house walls? I currently have electrical wiring running from the first floor void into power sockets downstairs, all running through the cavity and entering again at the bottom to make the connection.

Does anyone know how wide this cavity space is likely to be? it's a 1850's house btw.

Thanks

Minimum 50mm, check with the electricians on here for the cable in cavity, is it allow? etc

I would be suprised if a mid 19th century house had a cavity

Cavity walls were commonly introduced after WW1 and generally had a 50mm cavity
