I'm just replacing the window boards in my conservatory and have found the cavity dwarf wall under the windows is empty. I would like to insulate it whilst I've got the window boards off, but with what?

I can't slide insulation boards in because of the wall ties and the cavity varies in size, I need something loose I can pour in.

Someone suggested Vermiculite but on investigation I found it absorbes moisture and can't be used in an outside cavity wall.

Anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks

Rod

You can get bags of loose fill insulation for this purpose. Polystyrene beads would do it, but ultimately it won't make the room any warmer. Conservatories don't retain heat in the winter cos of all that glass, which is thermally 'lossy'
