CCTV/Smart Home suggestion

Looking to install a Smart home/CCTV setup once i have finished with my extension.

Currently have an old type alarm, Hive for heating, and zigbee sensors switches for smart home. Looking at getting an all in one - ideally standalone system recording to a hard drive rather than the cloud.

IP or HD?

Any recommendations please?

Thanks. HiKvision name always pops up… I will look into synology further.

You get a two camera license per server, so if you want more than two cameras then its better to buy two smaller servers and use both to sync. this also gives you a backup. Otherwise you can use a NVR. But the synology is useful as a general backup, media server etc.

but how will I have a look around if I don't know where to start looking? Shodan is good but I need an idea where to start
