Ceiling crack in bedroom

Hi
Does anyone know what may be causing and how I can remedy the ceiling crack in a bedroom? In case helpful, It’s a flat roof

Jaynay, good evening.

Nice straight line, it is a joint between two plasterboard ceiling boards.

Remedy? apply a skim of plaster to the entire ceiling?

Or,

Apply a thick lining paper, not as good as above but will "mask" the worst effects of the crack.


Or, carefully rake / cut out the crack with a Stanley knife or similar, take your time and re-fill the joint.
