Ceiling light new house, tripped other lights

With the wires connected as in your last pic ,if the other lights don't work, check that the two black wires copper conductors are clamped fully in that terminal block ,and also check the 3 red wires copper conductors are clamped in their terminal block.

can you or your friend provide a picture of the connections to the switch in that room - - and if there are 2 red connected wired , from 1 T&E Grey ?

Also do you or friend have a Multimeter?

looks more likely to be as in my image ..... but why is it in the way the connections are now - ??

was this as the friend found the wiring or did he/she disconnect the the existing light ?

Those wires are arranged as I would expect.

As Terry says, check the security of the connections.
