Hi folks,

A job i'm working at at the mo doesn't seem to have a way of seperating the power to the CH from the HW. In other words, when you want the central heating on, you get hot water whether u want or not - this doesn't seem right.

Is this likely at all? or am i just misunderstanding something?

It's a vented system with an oil burner

Thanks for ur help

Its because its an old gravity feed on the how water circs, wired up for pump and boiler. In other words you can have hot water on its own , but not central heating.

Thats the way it was installed, probably many moons ago
