Am sure there will be others who are au fait with your boiler in due course, but I suspect you'll be needing to call someone out.

I remember Mr Barker during one of his many stories telling how a boiler model the same as yours had burnt a whole through the back of the heat exchanger. A major fire and safety hazard I'd say. As I said, keep it off, get someone out. Ideal fixed price repair would be first choice but doubt they'd come out tomorrow. Worth a try though.

Try Ideal as well. Remember Ideal engineers will have majority of parts on the van, BG will probably not.

The "boom" was just unsettling me, along with the smell.

Get a lot of that in WC`s over Xmas
