Yep - fair enough - bad choice of words.

I still wouldn't want a client to be able to interact and isolate the EV from the system. Unfortunately in my experience, if some clients are given the ability to interact with things they shouldn't, invariably they will, probably why the 2 tesla systems both have anti-tamper & lockable valves.

I wouldn't see it as a required component as part of a standard install tho, horses for courses I guess.
 
Seconded, if the EV was a safety device then it would need a backup for when it failed since rubber will always fail eventually. The boiler pressure relief valve is the safety device. The EV is just part of the normal equipment so the system can function.

If you're diy-ing then you can take as long as you like and to hell with the cost.

Working for commercial gain and remaining competitive, it's "do it properly but get in and out... Unless you have a custard who says go to town and money no object x
