We have returned from holiday today to find that the circuit with the Central Heating boiler on it has blown the fuse.

Each time the boiler switches on it blows the fuse, this fault has occured whilst we have been away.

Any advise will be much appreciated, after a month in Goa we are finding things a bit chilly .!!!

Did you leave it on and running while you were away? The pump hasn't seized up, has it?

Might be worth trying the plumbing forum, giving more details of the type of boiler.

I was called to a very similar fault like this the main isolator switch in the cu was a rcd protected one, when the heating spur was turned on it tripped out, i carried out an insulation test on the cables and found a dead short between earth and neut, mmmmm interesting i thought , upon further investigation i found that the boiler had a small leak (only leaking when cold) and an amount of water had dripped into the motorized valve causing the short, hey presto hairdryer out dried it all out re tested all cables and check conections for damage inside the valve all ok, switched back on perfect!! so i would start at this point in my investigations!!
