Central Heating for large bungalow?

Morning chaps.

I'm after the best central heating system for a large 5 bed dormer bungalow.

It's about to be refurbed and the chap who owns it wants the best options. I'm afraid my limited knowledge ends here so can anyone provide and answer?

Is there mains gas or will you be using oil? Or you going to go for ground or air source heat pumps, solar panels?

When this chap says 'best', does he mean best to keep warm, best for his wallet or best for the environment?
