Central heating nightmare!

As already advised you will need to get everything circulating before you can use chemicals to flush it, the chemicals dont clear blockages

Yes I know. I have a heating engineer coming round to get it going. I have a million and one jobs
Did the pump run ok when out? Did you have to drain a lot of water when you removed the pump? Can you open the gate valves a bit too see if water is there?
Did you shove something all the way down the flutes of the impeller to make sure its completely free?
I your 3 way valve in the right position?

I drained the system as I said earlier, but some rads are still full. I closed the valves either side of the pump so hardly any water came out. I will check the impeller again though. I checked that the pump was running after I had the intial problem by taking out the central screw. The system worked OK prior to me changing the radiator and I didn't touch any valves so it should work now, so it must be blocked or an air lock.

Crack on with your other jobs and leave it to your engineer who is coming next week to sort it. Regards Terry.
