Our Heating has performed well since we had a new boiler two years ago. We have since changed one leaking radiator in the room where our thermostat is. That room heats up fine but now the main large sitting room does not get up to temperature, although the radiators are seem hot and the valves are fully open. Would it help if I turn the new radiator's valve down?

Could be that the lockshield valve on your new rad is not set to the same position as prior .close it down ,then open 1/4 turn and see what result is. Check sitting room rad is bled.
