We are getting a strange noise from central heating pipework (near boiler) rather akin to a extended scraping sound which finishes with the sound of water movement. It happens several times a day and not sure if it might be an airlock somewhere in the pipework or the pump itself. I have made sure the rads have no air in them and regularly check the filling loop (which seems to require topping up once a week). The Boiler (Puma 80e) lockout about once a day, usually after one of these noisy spells.

I am considering draining down to whole central heating pipework at some point - any ideas?
