Hey guys, so i had this issue where I currently get no hot water or central heating for downstairs rads. I thought the culprit might be the pump since the boiler seems to be working.

Anyways I unscrewed the pump screw after shutting off power and a stream of water just came out non stop, is this normal?

Thanks

Ps. a little bit of air did come out but i didnt check the motor thingy because i got nervous of all the water coming out that i just closed it back. And also the pump is extremely hot to the touch

Yes, that's normal, it's a bleed screw. You'll get less water out if you open it with the power on, and you'll also then be able to see whether it's spinning or not

EDIT If it's very hot, it's probably seized, but you won't know that unless you turn it on
