hello all, new guy here

right 1st off i will say were coverd under british gas for most heating issues. but..

a few years ago the pump went down, BG came out and replaced it. but a few months after (winter) we noticed that 2 rooms downstairs were running cold. BG have looked at this every year for 5 years now and they still dont work.

i have been looking round the net and notice 2 ratings of grundfos pumps.

15/50 & 15/60

i understand 1 is for 5 meter header and the other is for 6 meters.

we have the 15/50 installed and the central heating header tank is a touch over 6 meters.

does it look like british gas have put in the only pump they had onboard and have forgot to mention its a smaller rating.

i can get the 2 rooms downstairts to work only if i shut down upstairs rads.

now i balanced the system as best i could, all upstairs rads are quarter turn on so barley working, at least 12 degrees diffrence from inlet to outlet on all upstairs rads. all i get is poor half warm rads downstairs. this is the best i can get it, if i turn thevalves upstairs any more the rads go off and downstairs kick in.

i have drained and refilled the system 4 times now, still no joy :(

do i need the 15/60 pump to overcome the problem, and should i expect british gas to come and put a unit back in that can do the job. ?

thanks all who read and reply.

G.
