My central heating pump has begun staying on night and day. Doesn't matter whether the boiler's firing, the main (elecronic) timer's on or off, the room thermostat is turned right down, or the main controller is set to heating and/or hot water - the pump just runs continuously.

Anyone have any ideas where to start looking?

TIA,

Glenn

Assuming the wiring hasn't been damaged/moved/rewired, and the pump stops running when the mains is removed from the heating system, the most likely thing is one of the diverter valve switches being faulty. You may have to buy a new one.

Also check the thermostat on the hot tank. Disconnect one wire (power off!) and see if pump stops.
