Central Heating stopped but hot water still working

I have a Ideal Heat Only Boiler (installed 1989).
open vented system
well maintained

hot water works but heating doesn't.

This happened once before and it turned out to be a relay in timer.

Can you please give me a few hints about what it could be. Thank You
