Central Heating system losing pressure / water.

A family member has a CH system that needs topping up with water every 4-6 weeks. This is the second one that needed doing this so points towards the pipes / radiators rather than the boiler itself.

I would imagine there is a pipe that is leaking somewhere in the system although there is nothing visually obvious. I doubt if it is in the upstairs half as there is no visible leak so I am assuming it is in the downstairs part and is just leaking into the ground below the floorboards.

Apart from ripping up every floorboard to find the leak (which I am not going to do) is there anything I can do?
